Polling rate is by default Hz but it can be adjusted to any of the following: Hz, Hz, Hz and Hz. It tracks from height of 1 DVD 1. This unfortunately is not configurable via Logitech software. Scroll wheel is very bad, especially if you compare it to Roccat scroll wheels or wheels from G and G Pro mouses. On top of it, scroll wheel seems loose and very cheaply built.
Scrolling through kilometers of web pages would be painful experience. There is a hope that over time of using it, it will become smoother as with original MX scrolls did.
One positive side is that this optical scroll is very reliable. Cable is just as I like it. Plain, simple, rubber cable. It is soft enough and does not provide any significant at least not annoying resistance. Feet are exactly same as on the original MX Material is PTFE. Out of the box these are smooth and you will not need replacement, however judging by the experience with old MX these will fail after years and you will either replace them with better after market solution or simply continue without them.
Mouse plastic is glossy with sides being matte rubberized plastic. Both things are upgrade from the old MX metallic bubbly finish and smooth rubberized plastic side grips. You can also have Windows give an audible sound when you change DPI but you have to go assign it in Windows; this feature is not on by default. This mouse will work on pretty much any surface but it shines on a gaming mat. The ergonomics of the mouse are about as perfect as you can get. My hand rest very comfortable and I have no issues using this mouse for hours at a time.
Then you have the looks; Logitech did an outstanding job of giving this mouse something people will look at with its dented in cover plate. Everything on the Logitech MX Optical Gaming Mouse feels sturdy and like unless you did just chunk it against a brick wall it will last for years. Logitech stands behind this mouse with a 3 year warranty and I can see why. As I stated earlier I have had this mouse for over 2 years and have yet to have a single problem.
I personally play first person shooters more than anything. Playing Battlefield 3 this mouse functions awesomely. I like to snipe and run around.
